Best Solution of Ringing in Ears Problem: Secret Revealed

The whistling ear, it's serious?

On the occasion of the National Hearing Day, which aims to make the French aware of the importance of taking care of their ears, focus on this strange and sometimes very disabling sensation that is tinnitus.

TINNITUS. Who has never known this strange sensation of perceiving a sound that seems to come directly from the ear, even from the inside of the head? Whistling, ringing or buzzing, this one has something to destabilize when one realizes that he has no objective existence. These auditory hallucinations are tinnitus and affect more than 16 million people in France, one in four French people. More exactly, 16 million said to suffer in a survey published by the Ipsos Institute in 2014In fact, those who have already experienced tinnitus punctually are probably much more numerous. Indeed, when they are short periods and occur only sporadically, tinnitus is generally quite innocuous and are therefore rarely reported.

When emergency consultation is needed

But the consequences of tinnitus are very variable from person to person. In varying degrees, the 16 million French people who say they suffer from tinnitus are people whose quality of life can be strongly affected by these auditory hallucinations: difficulties or even inability to fall asleep, problems of concentration, anxiety and, in the most persistent cases, depression.
Some cases may even require consultation as soon as possible if the noises are accompanied by hearing loss, dizziness, headaches or confusion. In the case of persistent tinnitus difficult to bear or accompanied by pain in the ear, a visit to the ENT may be required.
It is then a question of looking for the causes of these "subjective sounds". And they can be many. Most of the time, tinnitus is due to a lesion in the inner ear that causes parasitic signals that the brain confuses with external noises, and therefore treats them as such. These injuries to the outer ear result either from an aging process or from exposure to a loud noise environment.
Other causes may be the cause of tinnitus:  a plug of earwax, an infection of the middle ear, high blood pressure, circulatory insufficiency in certain arteries of the neck, an affection of the inner ear ... In fact, any condition that affects the ear canal in any way is likely to cause tinnitus. This sometimes makes the diagnosis very difficult. Some cases remain totally unexplained.
According to the patients, this adaptation is done more or less quickly, in a few months, but can also remain a persistent problem for many years.
